Training
Our training philosophy is that by evaluating and understanding what motivates each dog, we can utilize positive and negative reinforcement in order to build a well developed complete companion. Our trainer, Matt Daley, Police K9 Sgt (Ret) has over 20 years experience. He has trained service dogs for numerous Police Departments, and is certified to teach:
- Obedience
- Advanced Obedience
- Protection
- Police K9 Apprehension
- Detection
- Search and Rescue
- Swift Water Rescue
- Assistance Dogs
He offers a group classes, or private instruction. Classes currently available include:
- Potty Training
- Crate Training
- Puppy Obedience Teaching pups acceptable behavior, basic on lead commands, drive development, socialization, understanding your pup.
- Basic Obedience On and off lead heeling, sit, down, stay, social behavior modification, affection/leadership recall, release, leave it, wait.
- Advanced Obedience Basic obedience and on and off lead commands, heel, sit stay down in motion. Distraction training (Language of choice.)
- Problem Solving Chewing, biting, mouthing, licking, aggression, jumping up, counter-surfing, digging, barking, stool eating, submissive wetting, carsickness, fear issues.
We strongly encourage all who purchase one of our dogs to participate in some type of training regime. An unruly dog will be a pest, never enjoyed to it’s fullest potential, and will often become neglected. We are always available to lend advice, and for consultation on any behavioral issue.
